Microsoft Hiring Software Engineer 2022/23/24

Microsoft SCIM team is building an industry leading product to provide data loss prevention across Windows and Mac endpoints (desktops). As data set is growing, it has a large footprint on endpoints as well and there is a greater need to protect sensitive data loss from those endpoints without being intrusive and without impacting any business productivity.

Our client products and tightly integrated backend services need to be designed to protect hundreds of millions of customers in real time. The technologies consist of a wide variety of software encompassing kernel drivers, user mode system services, application and user interface level components, virtualization and emulation technologies, pattern matching, file format and network protocol parsers, building distributed cloud services and much more.

Responsibilities

We are looking for fast-learning, highly motivated, creative, and analytical software engineers. As an Engineer in our team, you will architect, design, implement and extend data loss prevention features across Windows and/or Mac operating systems. Additionally, as a self-driven technical leader, you will also be responsible for ensuring code quality, providing thought leadership in bringing innovation to our products and engineering practices. You will have the opportunity to shape the architecture of the product working with peers and partner teams. You will also get an opportunity to mentor others on the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelors, Masters, or PHD in computer science, engineering or equivalent
• 8+ years of application development experience on Windows and/or Mac in C++ and proven record of shipping commercially successful products.
• Experience developing multi-threaded and high-performance applications in C++.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and common Design Patterns.
• Strong problem-solving skills, excellent coding and debugging skills.
• Good communication and cross group collaboration skills
• Ability to work in an agile environment and quick learning capability.
• Prior experience with cloud-based web services is a big plus but not mandatory.
• Prior experience of Windows Kernel and Windows device drivers is a big plus but not mandatory.
